People gets ‘Luck’-y with Sinatra contest


To turn up the heat for the release of Warner Home Video’s 10th Anniversary Frank Sinatra DVD collections, People Magazine has created a “Luck Be A Beautiful Lady” custom contest. The sweepstakes will run exclusively within the magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful” special issue and online at People.com. The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for four to Las Vegas, complete with their own “beautiful lady” and “rat pack.”

Sinatra miniseries set to arrive in May


DVDActive has the announcement from Warner Home Video that Sinatra will arrive on DVD this May 13th. Starring Phillip Casnoff, Olympia Dukakis, and Gina Gershon, the critically acclaimed 1992 television miniseries was helmed by James Steven Sadwith. At this time, it appears no extra material will be included with the 2-disc Collector’s Edition set.

Bucket List DVD, Blu-ray coming in June


Warner Home Video has announced, via DVDActive, the DVD and Blu-ray releases for The Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Bonus features for the DVD will include a “Writing The Bucket List” featurette and a music video for John Mayer’s “Say.” The Blu-ray disc will contain those extras plus an additional interactive trivia track, a making of the John Mayer music video featurette, and a “Rob Reiner Interviews Stars of The Bucket List” feature. The hit comedy/drama will enter stores on June 10th.

Batman Begins coming to Blu-ray in July


Coming Soon has the press release from Warner Home Video that Batman Begins will have two Blu-ray releases on July 8: a standard single-disc version and a “Limited Edition” gift set. The gift set will include: The Dark Knight prologue, a Batman Begins motion art lenticular, a 32-page booklet including an all-new DC Comics comic book adaptation of The Dark Knight prologue, exclusive photos, script pages, story boards, five Batman Begins collectible postcards with never-before printed key art from the theatrical release, and $7.50 “movie cash” toward the purchase of an adult ticket for The Dark Knight.
