Terminator goes PG-13
According to Variety, producers at the Halcyon Co. are aiming for a PG-13 rating with Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. The previous three installments in the film franchise are rated R. Nonetheless, the producers believe the PG-13 rating won’t compromise the grittiness of the series. “The ratings have changed,” comments Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Victor Kubicek, a broker-turned-writer-producer. “The PG-13 has increased in intensity.” As the article points out, the rating has expanded the licensing opportunities for Terminator Salvation, including a deal for action figures from Playmates Toys.
