Maguire hunts Rabbit
Variety reports that Endgame Entertainment has acquired the Robert Tannen spec Hungry Rabbit Jumps, in which Tobey Maguire will star. Noted as “a dramatic thriller in the vein of David Fincher’s The Game,” the film will be produced by Maguire, Endgame’s James Stern and Gordonstreet Pictures’ Ram Bergman. Endgame’s Wendy Japhet will executive produce Rabbit.
CW announces series renewels
Variety reports that the CW network is bringing back Gossip Girl, America’s Next Top Model, Smallville, Supernatural, One Tree Hill and Everybody Hates Chris, each for another season. However, it is still unknown whether further season installments of Reaper, Aliens in America, Crowned, Farmer Wants a Wife, Pussycat Dolls Present, The Game and Beauty and the Geek will be picked up. Having already met their end are Girlfriends, CW Now, Life is Wild and Online Nation. As for WWE Smackdown, the show will move to MyNetworkTV this fall.
