Big Screen Roundup: 2/1/08 Edition



MTV has the third image from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to debut this week. The picture features Jones at the government warehouse from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

It appears Disney has big plans to extend its National Treasure franchise. Jim Hill Media suggests that the series could have third and fourth installments, as well as a theme park attraction. Interestingly, the article even offers a possible synopsis for National Treasure 3, which may “send the Gates family off to Easter Island and beyond in search of Atlantis. More importantly, the pure, clean power source that was supposedly lost forever when this ancient civilization sank beneath the sea. Which - were it to be harnessed today - would immediately put an end to global warming. Not to mention making gas and oil obsolete.”

DVDActive has the details on the DVD, Blu-ray and HD DVD releases for I Am Legend. The single disc version of the film will carry four animated comics (Death As a Gift, Isolation, Sacrificing the Few for the Many, and Shelter), and DVD-ROM features. The two-disc edition will contain those extras as well as an alternate theatrical version of the film with a “controversial” ending. The Blu-ray and HD DVD discs will offer the two-disc DVD’s extras.
