Robocop screenwriter talks series revamp


With MGM supposedly considering resurrecting the Robocop franchise, Ed Neumeier, who wrote the series’ first installment, believes he could direct the new feature. “I would love to make a Robocop movie,” Neumeier tells MTV Movies Blog. “I actually have a lot of ideas about what we could do with Robocop now.” Those ideas involve “a climate of fear that has been pervasive in the media that [says] we should stay at home, we should buy more stuff, and we should not protest or ask anything[.]”

Robocop reboot in the works?


MGM has sent out a press release in which the company announces its evolution into a supplier of major movie franchises. Interestingly, Ain’t It Cool News has noticed that among the potential film franchises mentioned in the announcement is Robocop. At this time, it is unknown what exactly MGM plans to do with the property.
