McGowan is still Barbarella
With MTV, Rose McGowan confirms that she will still play the title role in Robert Rodriguez’s remake of Barbarella. It had been reported elsewhere that the actress would not get the part, as Universal was seeking a more famous celebrity for the role. “[The news that I was out] was really irritating because I know all the people over there and obviously it wasn’t true. It was very malicious and there was no proof,” McGowan said of the rumors. “Oftentimes these things have basis in truth but this didn’t. I have contracts to prove it.”
Silk, Gilchrist join Lin Pictures
Dan Lin and his Warner Bros.-based shingle Lin Pictures have named Jon Silk as VP of production and Stephen Gilchrist as director of development, pens Variety. The duo will assist in finding and developing projects for Lin. Films currently being overseen by Lin include George Miller’s Justice League, Richard Kelly’s The Box, and Robert Rodriguez’s Shorts.
