Gugino, Marshall enter Race to Witch Mountain
The Hollywood Reporter tells that Carla Gugino and Garry Marshall have joined Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Race to Witch Mountain. Gugino will play “a discredited astrophysicist and UFO expert who meets up with a Las Vegas cab driver (Johnson),” while Marshall will portray a helpful “government and UFO conspiracy theorist/fringe scientist.”
Hinds, Ludwig join Race to Witch Mountain
Ciaran Hinds (HBO’s Rome) and Alexander Ludwig (The Seeker) are joining Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb for Race to Witch Mountain, Disney’s reimagining of its 1975 adventure Escape to Witch Mountain. Andy Fickman is on board to direct the picture, which is being described as “an action thriller.” The Hollywood Reporter has the story.
Disney releases new film schedule
Now that the Writers Guild of America strike has ended, Disney is the latest studio to shift around some of its movie release dates for 2009, informs Variety. Changes made to the company’s schedule involve: Confessions of a Shopaholic (2/13/09), Race to Witch Mountain (3/13/09), Alice in Wonderland (3/19/09), Old Dogs (4/10/09), The Hannah Montana Movie (5/1/09), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (6/16/09), G-Force (7/24/09), The Proposal (9/25/09) and The Surrogates (11/20/09).
