Scott ‘Cyclops’ Summers meets Wolverine
According to Superhero Hype!, Australian actor Tim Pocock will portray a young Scott “Cyclops” Summers in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Thus, Pocock has joined a cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins. Director Gavin Hood’s Wolverine will hit theaters on May 1, 2009.
Jackman going Nowhere
Hugh Jackman and Eli Stone co-creator Marc Guggenheim are teaming with Virgin Comics to create Nowhere Man, reports Variety. The feature’s story has yet to be revealed. Nonetheless, Jackson’s Seed Productions partner John Palermo admitted that the project’s protagonist is reminiscent of Will Smith’s one in I Am Legend. In addition, it appears that the concept for Nowhere Man deals with a future in which mankind has chosen safety over privacy.
Marshall to Drive for Universal
Doomsday director Neil Marshall will helm Drive for Universal, says Variety. Based on the James Sallis novel, the plot focuses on “a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway car driver in heists.” Hugh Jackman will play the lead in Drive, adapted by Hossein Amini.
