Rowling has 20/20 vision


RDF and ABC News are collaborating on a behind-the-scenes look at the life of Harry Potter mastermind J.K. Rowling, indicates The Hollywood Reporter. IWC Media, part of the RDF Media Group, filmed Rowling for over a year. Collected footage for the television special includes “several interviews, the book tour for the final installment, a tour of locations that provided inspiration for her characters and even a hint to what the future holds for Harry and his friends.” The Rowling 20/20 special will air on ABC this November, in time for the theatrical debut of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

New Half-Blood Prince image

Harry Potter VI confirmed for IMAX


Coming Soon has learned that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will get a simultaneous IMAX release when the movie hits theaters nationwide on November 21. Richard L. Gelfond, IMAX co-chairman and co-chief executive officer, elaborated, “Our release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled for November, and we expect that as with [Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix], certain sections of the film such as the finale will be presented in IMAX 3D.”

Harry Potter to face Deathly Hallows twice


The Los Angeles Times confirms that the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split into two parts, both directed by David Yates and written by Steve Kloves. Yates previously helmed the film editions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, As for Kloves, the screenwriter will have written seven of the eight Potter films.
