In Nip/Tuck, two plastic surgeons, close friends and business partners who own an overwhelmingly successful plastic surgery practice attempt to bring inner peace and visceral contentment to their patients through external cosmetic procedures. Although their clients aspire to cover up their pain, it is the surgeons who truly wear the masks of anguish and unhappiness, sadness and disillusionment. For more than two decades, they have shared a love for the same woman, who despite being married to one, has loved both. And at midlife, the doctors question the prosperity that has brought them so much - and has offered so little.
Starring Dylan Walsh (The Lake House, Nobody’s Fool, Congo), Julian McMahon (Premonition, Fantastic Four movies, Charmed, Profiler), John Hensley (Fifty Pills, Witchblade, Madigan Men), Roma Maffia (Law & Order, Chicago Hope, Profiler, Holes), Kelly Carlson (”The Marine,” “Paparazzi,” “Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation”) and Joely Richardson (The Last Mimzy, The Affair of the Necklace, The Patriot, Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America), Nip/Tuck is from The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series airs Tuesdays (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on FX.
The fifth season of Nip/Tuck continues where the fourth season left off. Following his divorce from Julia (Richardson), Sean (Walsh) sold his half of McNamara/Troy and departed Miami for Los Angeles. Having ended his engagement, Christian (McMahon) soon followed, thus relocating McNamara/Troy to the West Coast. Dr. Liz Cruz (Maffia) also joins the new McNamara/Troy for a fresh start, as she recovers physically and emotionally from past loves. Now living in New York with daughter Annie (recurring guest star Kelsey Lynn Batelaan) and baby Conor, Julia visits Sean and Christian in Los Angeles, bringing a new female love with her. And Matt McNamara (Hensley) and Kimber Henry (Carlson), who wed last season, now have a baby daughter. They, too, descend upon Los Angeles, shrouded in the anguish of addiction. This new season of Nip/Tuck explores Sean and Christian’s struggles for success in a city where they are professionally unknown, and where residents yearn for fame.
Season V features many guest stars, including Oliver Platt, Lauren Hutton, Bradley Cooper, Paula Marshall, Portia de Rossi, Jennifer Coolidge, Craig Bierko, Daphne Zuniga, Tia Carrere and John Schneider. Rosie O’Donnell also guest stars, reprising her Season IV role as lottery winner Dawn Budge, and Leslie Grossman reprises her Season I role as former patient Bliss Berger.
